Get to Know Me

Kayleigh Shorter, LPC, is a dedicated mental health counselor who focuses on creating a collaborative and flexible therapeutic environment. Kayleigh earned her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, she provides evidence-based care to residents across the Gulf Coast, helping them build resilience and emotional insight.

Kayleigh believes that there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution to mental wellness. She utilizes an eclectic approach, drawing from various therapeutic modalities to ensure that the treatment aligns perfectly with each client’s specific goals and personality.

Clinical Expertise

Kayleigh works with individuals ages 10 and up, providing a supportive, nonjudgmental space for adolescents and adults alike. Her practice focuses on:

  • Eclectic Evidence-Based Therapy: Tailoring techniques to the individual rather than a single rigid model.
  • Insight Building: Helping clients understand the “why” behind their challenges.
  • Practical Coping Skills: Developing real-world tools for managing stress and life transitions.
  • Adolescent & Adult Care: Specializing in the unique developmental needs of pre-teens through adulthood.

Service & Personal Life

Based in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Kayleigh serves the local community and surrounding coastal areas. She is a strong advocate for balance and presence, principles she practices in her own life.

When she is not in the therapy room, Kayleigh enjoys gardening, relaxing at the beach, and spending quality time with her family. These activities help her stay grounded and bring a sense of calm and perspective to her professional work.
