What is SPRAVATO®? SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is a prescription nasal spray used alongside an oral antidepressant to treat:

• Adults with treatment-resistant depression (TRD)
• Depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) who have suicidal thoughts or actions.

Unlike traditional antidepressants, which can take weeks or months to take effect, SPRAVATO® works rapidly and may be appropriate for individuals who have not found relief from other treatments. However, it is not intended to replace hospitalization if required and should always be taken under close medical supervision due to the potential for serious side effects.

Who Might Benefit from SPRAVATO®? SPRAVATO® could be an option for individuals who:

• Have tried multiple antidepressant medications without success.
• Are struggling with severe depressive symptoms accompanied by suicidal thoughts or actions.

What to Expect with Treatment Administered in our clinic, SPRAVATO® is taken under direct medical supervision. Each treatment session lasts around two hours, during which time you will be monitored for any potential side effects, including sleepiness, dizziness, and increased blood pressure. You must arrange for transportation, as driving after the treatment is not recommended.

Can I continue to see my current doctor and receive SPRAVATO treatments here? If your doctor feels SPRAVATO is an appropriate part of your treatment plan they can refer you to us just for your SPRAVATO treatment. You will meet with our provider to ensure this would be appropriate for you, but you can continue to see your regular doctor.
